Gospel artists from all over the national triangle have converged on the Jubilee Gospel Centre Ayaba, in Bamenda, to pray for the return of peace to Cameroon.
This was in a three-day programme dubbed “72 Hours of Praise and Worship.” From Wednesday, October 23 to Saturday, October 26 2019, it was music and prayers nonstop.
Speaking to one of the event organisers, Cosmos Smith aka The Rabbi, he said this was a history-making event, as it was the first of its kind in Bamenda and the country at large. He equally expressed the conviction that the Anglophone crisis was over since their songs of praise and worship have gone up to God, thereby bringing down God’s blessings on the land.
Cosmos further discarded fears that the event had a political colouring.
“This event was neither sponsored by any politician, nor by any political party. The funds came from our personal pockets” he averred.
“This was a gathering of Levites intended to offer up incense to God in form of sweet songs, and therefore had no denominational barriers,” The Rabbi added.
Roland Mbale, vision bearer, and Zita Light one of the gospel ministers, both described the event as divine instruction, so spiritually edifying, and an as a cure to the crisis.
Their songs and prayers come on the heels of a crisis which has claimed about 3,000 lives, caused the internal displacement of over half a million people, and rendering over 42,000 others as refugees in neighbouring Nigeria.
